For Tour Companies

Tromsø Guideforening (TGF) works with guides, companies, and public stakeholders to strengthen professional standards in the Tromsø tourism sector. We do not represent a labour union, inspection body, or booking intermediary. We do not provide guides to companies, and we do not interfere in company operations.

Our aim is not to regulate operators or replace existing cooperation, but to support a more predictable and professional guiding environment benefiting guests, guides, companies, and local communities.

TGF is:
• a professional association for guides
• a communication channel between field experience and stakeholders
• a platform for knowledge sharing and training initiatives

TGF is not:
• a tour operator or booking platform
• a guide rental service
• a regulatory or inspection authority

Working guides handle many real-time decisions that directly affect a company’s operation and reputation.
Clear communication, shared expectations, and professional standards help reduce misunderstandings, complaints, and operational friction.

TGF helps by:
• improving communication across companies
• sharing practical field knowledge
• supporting consistent guiding practices
• contributing to safer operations

How companies can be involved
