A small effort. A visible difference.
At the end of the winter season, Tromsø Guideforening invites guides, tourism workers, and locals to take part in a simple but important initiative:
Cleaning the places we all use.
Why this matters
Tourism in Tromsø continues to grow — and so does the pressure on nature and infrastructure.
Many of the most used parking areas and viewpoints are left with:
- trash
- fire remains
- general wear from daily use
This initiative is not about pointing fingers.
It’s about taking responsibility — together.
What we will do
We will spend the day cleaning selected locations around Tromsø.
Depending on how many people join, we will organise into small groups and head out using:
- minivans
- private cars
- shared transport
No special experience needed — just willingness to help.
Who can join
This event is open to:
- guides
- tourism companies and staff
- locals
- anyone who wants to contribute

Final note
Dugnad is a strong part of Norwegian culture — a shared effort to take care of common spaces.
